LANDLORDS have until the end of March 2018 to make sure their properties meet the Government's energy-efficiency standards.

After the deadline, landlords face fines up to £4,000 for flouting the law, or losing money on empty homes they cannot rent out until they meet the minimum EPC rated E standards.

"For any landlords who haven’t yet started to upgrade their properties, now is the time to act and quickly,” said David Cox, chief executive of letting agents' trade body ARLA Propertymark.
